Going by car

If we want to go on a trip far from the city centre or to the mountains we have to rent a car. In the cities themselves and between the cities there are bus connections, however, they are usually expensive. But if we desire to swerve off the route or go to Troodos, we need to have our own means of transportation.
There are no problems of renting cars on the entire island – you only must have a valid driving licence. The vehicles from rental shops are distinguished by red number plates to make local people notice a driver that is not used to driving on the left side of the road. It is crucial to remember, that outside the city area we may possibly have problems with refueling a car with petrol during the weekends and holidays.
